Padua believed to be one of the oldest cities in northern Italy. Testified by it's presence in Virgil’s Aeneid; it was founded in 1183 BC by the Trojan prince Antenor. It is a city and commune in Veneto, it lays upon the Bacchiglione river, 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Venice and 29 km (18 miles) southeast of Vicenza.
Padua reserves itself two spots in the UNESCO World Heritage List: for its Botanical Garden, the most ancient of the world, and the 14th-century Frescoes, situated in different buildings of the city centre. (An example is the Scrovegni Chapel painted by Giotto at the beginning of 1300.). The city is definitely a sight worth seeing, a suburban reality giftwrapping one of the most ancient, fine and picturesque treasures of the world. It is decked with squares, bars and long walks along the Bacchiglione river, revealing a new piece of history in every step.
